Advanced Biodigester Mk-II
The Mk-II is an advanced Biodigester that is used for the treatment of human waste for the entire metro rail network. The Biodigester is very cost-effective and thus will help cut the cost of the project.
Such technology has been used in the prior in Indian railways where it effectively manages human waste which was a big thing to deal with in the past.
Indian Railways has installed a whopping 2.40 lakh Biodigester in the passenger coaches. This newer Biodigester will consume less space and will also increasingly save water.
There has been a greater approach to a greener future as the cutting of trees for the metro shed was seen as a big scuffle between the activists and government.
Maharashtra Metro Rail corporation signed a memorandum of understanding with the DRDO to install eco-friendly Biodigester which will ultimately lead to the conservation of soil and water in the region.
